The intrest in kitchen gardening is on the
increase, likely due to peoples concerns about GM foods, their wish to have organic
products or purely because you can not beat the taste and sweetness of your own efforts,
however meagre they may be.
It is possible to grow some sort of vegetables
even in a limited space.

This is how much space I started growing
vegetables in. It's hardly arces!! |
I started growing vegetables and herbs in the
garden, mainly in pots. Lettuce, baby carrots, tomatoes, spring onions, runner beans and
courgettes in any container I found. Onions, rhubarb and broccoli in the heavy clay soil.
The only fruits I grow are strawberries. Herbs that do well on the south-facing patio (I
use the term loosely as you can see) are chives, rosemary, oregano, marjoram, thyme and
mint (which must be grown in pots as it will invade) Sage does ok but may need a sheltered
place during winter.
