WHAT A STUNNING PERFORMANCE BY THE STEVIEWAY GIRLS

The Glitter Girls, pictured above, entertained visitors at the re-opening of the refurbished Stephenson Way Community Centre in Corby. The nine to 16-year-olds, pictured with their teacher Kerrianne Sudborough, had been rehearsing for the big day for about ten weeks and now they want to carry on practising new routines. They are part of the Kool Klub which meets at the centre on Wednesdays and is now appealing for volunteers to help out at its weekly meetings.  Youth worker Debbie Robinson said: "We’d like someone to help out with arts and crafts and maybe even sports. The improvements to the centre are fantastic, there’s much more space."

Warmly applauded by residents of the East Lloyd’s Estate, Corby Borough Councillors, County Councillors and the SRB Board, Mrs Frances Milligan (our eldest member) cuts the ribbon and declares the Stephenson Way Community Centre formally open to the public. The Mayor and Mrs Milligan subsequently unveiled the official plaque – in the lobby – an hour later.
