It took another twenty three years before I rode the most northerly car park in Europe – North Cape in Norway, but that is another story as the expression goes. The story, "On a Wing & a Prayer", is linked from the Home page and you have a choice of two versions: full or abbreviated.
Somewhere around here I could not resist a viewing of a waterfall in someone’s garden. The beckoning sign stated, “Due to the prolonged dry spell very little water is coming over the falls and the Enterance (sic) fee has been reduced to 10p per head.” Dry spell, what dry spell? Another notice said, “In the garden of happy memories it is always summer.” |
I stopped at Dingle for one night before investigating the beach which was big and open and crowded, well by Irish standards anyway. Continuing westwards I reached Slea Point and the most westerly car park in Europe the sign said. Note the spelling mistake on the picture.

I couldn’t resist this postcard. The date is unknown but it was taken in Cecil Street, Limerick. |
