Heisteeg 6 Tweede Kamer, for me, has always been THE place to buy best quality Cannabis Resin (Hash) in Amsterdam for a great many years. Sept 2002.Visited the new shop. The shop has been enlarged, the partition screen you can see on the interior photo(above) at bottom left, has gone, as has the rest of the ornate woodwork, to be replaced by ....... more woodwork, flat red mahogany coloured wood throughout broken up with a repeating theme of a black ebony line. small fasionable glass lightshades complete the transformation with new tables and comfortable chairs. Minimalist and modern ,but rich in effect and preserving the old warm vibe of this shop. In short Tweede Kamer has not had so much a maker-over, more a style update. All the old colours of the old shop, the warm red glow and the pale yellow of the lighting has been totally preserved -Thank God - as has the service and the shop now has even more fabulous "menu" - I have never seen as many different Hash varieties on one menu in Amsterdam in 30 years !! These are matched by a huge number"Grass" varieties. Go, if only to see the Menu !!! This huge plastic menu, like a giant tablemat, even gives you a whole lot of detail as to the strength of the stuff you are contemplating buying. Will try & get interior photos on next visit.
Getting there. This is quite a way from the Dam but worth the effort, a bonus being that two other top shops, "De Dampkring" and "Dutch Flowers", are very close by. Take a no.1 or 2 Tram to "Spui" (pronounced "Spoy") keep on the right hand side of the road, walk around the corner into Spuistraat, look across the road and you will see a little alley dividing a restaurant from other shops, this is Heisteeg, Tweede Kamer is on the right. |
