Judgement Day

PART 2

The Great Hall was full of dignitaries
As each of the accused took his place
And Satan, with his entourage of devils,
Made his entrance through the bottom gate.

Warmly dressed in a tailored asbestos suit
And wearing a crown of fire upon his head,
He sat on the left hand side of God's throne
Which, when fold out, doubled as a bed.

At exactly 1200 hours the Trinity entered:
Father first, the Son next, then the Ghost.
God sat on the throne, the Son at His right
While the Spirit hovered from pillar to post.

God looked over the throng and spoke
These words to that great multitude:
"Gentlemen, we are gathered here to judge
The defendants' earthly attitude."

"Did they follow my commandments
Or did they treat them with derision?
And in accordance with divine law
We shall formulate our decision."

"My Son shall be the prosecutor
And their defence lawyer all in one
 Ghost will pronounce the sentence
Once the proceedings are done."

Then, turning to the Son, He nodded
As a sign that he could now begin
And the Son got up and started
By pointing out their every sin.

Murder, arson, theft, rape, lies
Were shown for everyone to see
In a huge screen on the ceiling,
Which greatly impressed me.

The picture quality was perfect
And the sound clear and strong,
And the scrolling text at the bottom
Emphasized what they'd done wrong.

At length he described the crimes
In vivid tones, with great emotion,
And how they contemptuously spurned
His sacrifice of love and devotion.

He ended with these words:"Oh Father,
You put me through Golgotha and Calvary
And all that these wretches had to do,
To save themselves, was to call on me."

"But none of them did so, and I now end
By saying that, to us, they're of no use:
I'd cast them all into the 'Lake of Fire' ...
I am not here to defend, but to accuse."
