Under the Banyan Tree




They stop at the tea shop for refreshments.
A potter goes to the Thursday market with his pots in his bullock cart.
Anga, the beautiful woman who sells mangoes round the corner of the road, runs after the potter's cart singing,
'Here goes the rickety cart
with not only the big belly pots
but also a potter
with a pot belly.'

In return over a cup of coffee, the potter teases her back.
Whenever she fancies, Anga composes a new song.
People under the tree are amused by her songs.
